Twenty Colorado breweries hauled in 24 awards at the World Beer Cup 2014 captivated Friday night at the Hyatt Regency auberge in city Denver, including 10 gold badge awards.
Most surprising, however, was how abounding of those awards went to baby breweries and upstarts, not the medium-sized and acclaimed ability brewers that about boss brewing awards.
In abode of mainstays like New Belgium Brewing, Avery Brewing Co. and Great Divide Brewing, medals instead went to Wit’s End Brewing of Denver, Verboten Brewing of Loveland and year-old Riff Raff Brewing of Poncha Pagosa Springs.
Sure, the big daddy, Coors Brewing in Golden, won the best awards for its banal beers and was called World Beer Cup Champion in the ample brewing category, but alike baby brewers accustomed Coors influence.
